About Us

   This unit is the RAPID DEPLOYMENT FORCE of the LIGHT ARMOR DIVISION, based in Camp O'Donnell, Capas, Tarlac. Brought by political instability in NCR, the AFP leadership directed to deploy this unit as follow-on-forces, OPCON to NCRCOM effective 14 February 2008. CPT AROMIN was then the Troop Commander until he turned over this command to CPT JONAS B TEMPLO last 16 April 2008.

   Since the redeployment of 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion in Mindanao, 1st ACT assumed control the assigned tasks of the latter, except the security in MALACAÑANG. This unit conducts security and armor operations in support to the units in which they are attached or assigned in NCR. The unit headquarters was located in the former Command Post of 12MIC which is beside the AFP concessionaire, CGEA. It has a security detachments in HPA, fort Bonifacio and NCRCOM compound (formely ACTAF compound). Its RCP is located in the former unit headquarters in Camp O'Donnell, Capa, Tarlac.

   At preesent, the unit has two officers and forty-six enlisted personnel. The unit has six wheeled and two tracked armored vehicles. to achieve the unit thrust " to secure the seat of the National Government " the unit remain steadfast and focused in its endeavors.
